Hey Danielle! Welcome to planDisney. There are many complimentary forms of transportation that whisk guests across Walt Disney World Resort, including buses, boats, the monorail, and the Skyliner, and it is important to know the operating hours so you can get where you need to go. You have presented quite the quandary with your question, but I am confident that we can come up with a solution to get you to your tour on time! Let's see what your options are.
I checked the
Hours & Events calendar to confirm the opening time for Magic Kingdom on May 30th, and Early Entry does begin at 8:30 that morning. That means that
the monorail from the Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC) is scheduled to begin at 8:00AM, which would be too late for you to make your check-in time. The ferry boats may be running when you arrive, so you could hop on one of those to make your way over to Magic Kingdom. I will say I have had great success taking
water transportation from my resort prior to Early Entry, so I have a good feeling about this method.
If you're looking to get your steps in and if you arrive early enough, you could walk from the TTC to the entrance plaza of Magic Kingdom. You'd walk across the grounds of
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, then continue on the walking path that connects the Grand Floridian to Magic Kingdom. I used an online mapping tool and it looks like it would be just over a mile and a half of walking.
My final piece of advice is to assess the transportation options when you arrive at the TTC and determine what methods are available and how much time you have. Arrive early, and speak to a Cast Member if possible to help choose the best course of action on that day. Ferries schedules can change with the weather conditions, and the monorail and other forms of transportation may start running early. You can devise your plan now, but be ready to pivot on the day of your tour.
I'm crossing my fingers and my toes for you, Danielle! I hope you have the best time on your tour and are able to get checked in with time to spare. Please visit us again at planDisney should you think of more questions.
Stay magical,
Scott
