When do they put up the holiday gingerbread decorations - specifically the one at the Grand Floridian?

Hello Tiffany, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

He’s making a list and checking it twice. The ingredient list for gingerbread must be precise. Mmmm, there is nothing like the smell of freshly baked gingerbread. Unless it is a freshly baked gingerbread house at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

I had to contact a few of Santa’s elves to find the answer to your question. Believe it or not, there are pastry chefs who are getting ready to begin baking all the gingerbread needed to construct this year’s magnificent and delicious display. My elves have advised me that the majority of holiday decorations around the Walt Disney World Resort will begin to magically take their place between November 7th and November 11th. The transformation will be complete by Thanksgiving. The entire Walt Disney World Resort will be decked out for the holidays around Thanksgiving.

One thing to note about last year’s lavish and delicious gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is that it took over 400 hours of baking the gingerbread and another 160 hours to construct and decorate according to the Disney Parks Blog. My elves could not give me any more details because they were so busy. Preparations are probably underway and soon you will be lured by the aroma of fresh gingerbread wafting the lobby of the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Don’t forget to stop by and purchase some delicious gingerbread!

    Happy holidays,
    Andrea
