Ahoy, Meghan! I am so happy to welcome you aboard planDisney.
I am excited you are thinking about a
Disney Cruise Line vacation for next summer. I have a habit of "wishful booking." I feel like putting it out in the universe - and putting down a deposit - somehow helps turn my dreams into reality. I also know booking a year or more ahead can bring a bit of uncertainty. Hakuna Matata! The
cancellation policy for Disney Cruise Line makes it easy to book early and know there is time before your wish becomes a firm commitment. Last summer, I had to cancel a
European cruise due to a work conflict. I knew in time to change my plans before incurring any cancellation fees, so I was able to easily adjust to a
Caribbean cruise that worked with my schedule.
The timing for the cancellation policy varies based on the length of the cruise and stateroom type. For itineraries 6 nights or longer, you have up to 120 days before you sail to cancel your cruise. Shorter cruises give you up to 90 days before sailing. For concierge rooms, the deposit is non-refundable. You may want to read the
Terms & Conditions for the full information for all cruise lengths and stateroom types. When you see big, bold type in this document that reads "CRUISE CANCELLATION FEES," this
is the information you are looking for.
The last day to cancel and get a full refund is also the day full payment is due for your cruise (aka "Paid in Full"). For example, on a 7-night cruise, your date to be paid in full is 120 days from sailing. If you cancel for any reason before this date, you will get a full refund of your deposit and any additional payments made. If you were to cancel 119 days from your departure date, you would lose your deposit.
Once you are bibbidi bobbidi booked, the fun begins! You can take a look at the
Port Adventures that may be available at your destinations. You can dream about the
onboard activities, like adult-exclusive dining, spa treatments, Broadway-style theatrical shows,
Disney's Oceaneer Club, and all the activities for kids and youth.
If this is your first cruise, I want to make sure you know about the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. It gives you access to book Port Adventures and onboard activities once your booking window opens before you sail. Once on board, it has information on everything that is happening.
You also need to know about the
offer for future cruises. This is only available to purchase while you are on your cruise. Prices may change but currently, the future cruise offer is $250, and it gives you a 10% discount on a cruise within two years. The $250 payment is applied to your future reservation, and if you decide not to use it, it is fully refundable. Another Hakuna Matata!

SEAS the day!
