    If we put cash on our magic bands for spending, is there a way to monitor balance? Does it show remaining similar to how meals are subtracted? Do we put the cash down at check in and collect remaining at check-out? What if we used online check in?

    Hi, Amy!

    You are not able to put cash on your MagicBand account. If you would like to pay for your purchases using your MagicBand, you will need to put a credit card on file at check-in and get a PIN for charging with your MagicBands. When checking in, ask the cast member when you should pop by the front desk to put money toward paying off your balance. Tell them you want to pay cash, that you do not want the credit card to be charged. Usually, depending on the resort, the charges are not put through to your credit card until reaching a specified limit. I would plan to stop by the front desk every day or two, and pay off your balance with cash so your credit card is not charged.

    I know it is a bit complicated, but the MagicBands do not store financial information such as cash balances, gift card numbers, or credit card numbers, so you have to make a few extra steps if you want to charge to your MagicBand AND use cash. Of course, you can always just pay with cash throughout your stay and not even use the charging feature of your MagicBands.  It is up to you!
