Where would you put your belongings like your purse or passport to get back on the boat or drivers license at Castaway Cay so you can play in the ocean or go snorkeling

    Ahoy, Sherry!
Thanks for cruising by the Moms Panel with your question. Looks like you have a cruise planned that includes a visit to Disney's private island paradise!

When you disembark at Castaway Cay, the only identification you'll need is your Key to the World Card. This card, issued to you when you check in at the port, is your stateroom key, ship boarding pass, and shipboard charge card. Once we exit the ship, I usually put our cards in a zipper pocket of my beach bag for safe keeping. The cards are plastic and waterproof, and could also be carried in a secure swimsuit pocket. After grabbing a few towels, we head to the Family Beach to find our "spot". Beach chairs and umbrellas are plentiful. My kids love to play at Pelican's Plunge - a floating water feature with water slides, so that's where we usually end up. When we play in the ocean or snorkel, I just cover my bag with some towels and put our flip-flops on top. I've never felt unsafe leaving our bag for a bit while we enjoy the ocean! I've also seen guests in the water with little waterproof cases on lanyards that hold their cards.

There's no need to carry valuables like cash, jewelry or passports to Castaway Cay - you can leave those locked up in your stateroom safe. Lunch is included when you visit the island. Cookie's BBQ and Cookie's Too serve delicious barbeque, burgers, ribs and more. There are several fun open-air bars with delicious fruity drink options - drinks can be purchased with your Key to the World card. You'll also have a chance to visit several shops with Castaway Cay merchandise only available on the island. Your Key to the World card is all you'll need to take home some island souvenirs! The only place where you DO need cash is the Castaway Cay post office. If you'd like to send home a postcard with the Castaway Cay postmark, stash a few dollars in your bag to purchase postage.

Hope this helps! Enjoy your day at Castaway Cay! - Diane W.
