Hey Howdy Hey Megan and welcome to planDisney!
One thing is for certain when planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort and that is how super exciting it is! Once you decide which dates and which Disney Resort hotel is right for you, it is all we can do to hold back and make the reservations sometimes! I'm so with you here Megan, so let's talk about when to make your reservations.
The big things you want to keep in mind when booking your vacation are the
terms and conditions for 2025 and 2026. As of this writing, the terms and conditions for 2026 are not out yet, however, when it comes to modifying your vacation package reservation, things don't typically change too much year after year. The current policy which carries into 2025 states that with a vacation package booked, you can make changes to your vacation, including dates of travel, 31 days or more from your date of arrival without penalty. The date change will also come with updates on the pricing which will reflect the total amount per the date you change to. So if you book at one price but the total for the dates you want to change to are more expensive, you will see an updated total to cover the difference.
With that being said, it is entirely up to you how you want to handle it. You are allowed to book now and then update your reservation with the new dates as they are released, just know if you put your deposit down, this will only hold the price for the dates you select and resort. Just make sure you keep an eye on the dates and update when the 2026 dates are available. If you want to wait, early 2026 should be available later this year or early next year. Disney Parks on social media or the
Disney Parks Blog will be the places you will hear these announcements.
Another factor to keep in mind is
Special Offers and Discounts! If you can book a vacation now but in the future Disney releases deals that pertain to your vacation, you can rebook your reservation to take advantage of the offers. You can do this online from your My Disney Experience account or by
calling Disney and speaking with a Cast Member. There is nothing better than going on vacation and saving a little extra for those souvenirs and snacks right?
I hope this information helped to clear up the details of booking a vacation package with Disney. If you have any other questions, please feel free to let us know, we are always happy to help!
To Infinity and Beyond,
Nick
