Hiya Kyle,
Welcome to planDisney! As the mom of two little Mouseketeers under four, I fully understand making sure that you can keep the little ones happy so that everyone else can be happy. I still remember when my Prince Charming and I discovered that
character dining enabled us to enjoy a meal because it distracted our then 18-month-old long enough for us to eat. We happily paid for that meal and now never go on a trip without at least one character meal on our itinerary.
Thank you for sharing the link to the Unirider. Honestly, I had never seen one before, and as soon as my toddler saw it, she instantly wanted one. When I checked the
Walt Disney World Resort Property rules, I didn’t see anything forbidding an Unirider. The only guidelines about strollers relate to their dimensions and the fact that they cannot be stroller wagons. However, Cast Members do have final discretion on whether an item is prohibited or not. Since you are traveling to the Most Magical Place on Earth from out of town, I would hate for you to travel with something that wouldn’t be allowed in, so I reached out to a Cast Member to get their perspective. The Cast Member told me that they would recommend leaving the Unirider home. They said that Cast Members at the security check-in will likely not allow it in due to safety concerns, so it is best to err on the safe side and leave it at home.
I hope this was helpful, Kyle. My toddler wasn’t a fan of her stroller at that age as well, so I sympathize with you. One thing that we did a lot of was use the playgrounds located around the theme parks. You would often find us camped out in a playground area when the stroller became too much for her, while one parent grabbed a snack or rode an attraction. She had a blast, and we avoided a meltdown! Our favorite play areas are in EPCOT near
Creations Shop and in
SeaBase, but Storybook Circus at
Magic Kingdom is also lovely (bring a change of clothes for the splashpad area)! If there is anything else you need, please come back and see us.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
