Hi, Kirsten!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for asking this great question about the
Walt Disney World Resort. I hope you’re enjoying making plans for your pixie-dusted vacation. It will be here before you can say “bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!”
In my experience with navigating
security checkpoints for the theme parks, even the smallest purse, clutch or wristlet is typically considered a “bag” that must be inspected for the safety of all Guests. I’ve even seen Guests with noticeably full pockets asked to use the bag check line for the items they’re carrying. To expedite the screening process, be sure to open any compartments or zippers and remove the item’s straps from your body or wrist before reaching the front of the line. Keep in mind that all four theme park entrances also have metal detectors that you may be asked to pass through for enhanced security, although this process usually moves quite quickly.
I hope this information helps you plan, Kirsten, and that you enjoy a vacation that is practically perfect in every way! Please visit us again with any other questions you can dream of as your trip approaches.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
