Hi Becky,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for asking us a question, my fellow Canadian!
I was an Air Miles collector for years and I remember being pretty excited once I accumulated enough Dream Miles to be able to redeem them for
Theme Park Tickets. There may or may not have been a happy dance through my house that day… I’ll never tell! I’m happy to say that, once I linked them to a
My Disney Experience profile, I was able to use them just like any other regularly purchased Theme Park Ticket.
When I travel to Walt Disney World Resort, if I’m not with my family, I’m often with a group that has several different ticket types in the mix, so to speak. Some people, like me, have Annual Passes, some people have tickets purchased overseas, some people have your standard tickets. So far, I’ve never had a problem with purchasing
Disney Genie+ service or even
Individual Lightning Lane entrances for my entire group, regardless of the ticket type that each member of my party may have. Although I never tried to add Disney Genie+ Service specifically a ticket “purchased” with Air Miles, from what I understand, you can absolutely do so the morning of your theme park visit, just like any other ticket.
To make sure that you’re able to plan your family’s Disney Day smoothly, I recommend making sure that everyone in your party has a profile that is linked to your
My Family & Friends List in your My Disney Experience account. Make sure that any Theme Park Tickets that you've purchased (either with Air Miles or otherwise) is linked to their profile and that they a valid
Theme Park Reservation for the park you plan to visit that day. Be sure to wake up extra early and to purchase Disney Genie+ service for all of the members of your family who plan to use it. Then, at 7 am sharp if you’re staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, book your first Lightning Lane entrance as well as any Individual Lightning Lane entrances that you may want to purchase that day. If you aren’t staying “on property”, you’ll be able to make those selections when the Theme Park that you plan to visit opens for the day.
If, for some reason, you run into issues for one or more members of your party when it’s time to either purchase Disney Genie+ service or make your Lightning Lane selections, don’t panic! Just make the selections or purchases for the family members where the service is working and then visit
Guest Relations at the Theme Park you’ll be visiting to ask them for further assistance with your entire party.
I hope my answer helps you plan a magical vacation, Becky! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
