Purchasing the dining plan with a 4 and a 2 year old would you suggest a big late breakfast and a big early dinner or would it be better to have a quick snack breakfast, early lunch and dinner. Also, with our toddlers is it better to look for buffets only?

    Hi Sonia,

I find that dining at buffet type restaurants and restaurants that serve family style meals is usually the best options when I'm traveling with my children -- especially if we're using the Dining Plan.  It allows my kids more variety as they can eat selections from both the child menu and the regular menu.

There are several restaurants to choose from that will offer a great selection.  Character meals are, of course, extremely popular.  I would definitely plan on dining at at least one during your stay.  We usually do one per day, but not always.  Some other great restaurants that serve buffet or family style include Biergarten in Epcot, Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge, 'Ohana at the Polynesian and Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge.

As far as late breakfast vs. early lunch, that depends on where we want to dine for the day.  For instance, if we're planning a character breakfast, we'll usually have a big, late breakfast then have an early dinner.  If we know we want to dine at 50s Prime Time Cafe, we'll usually grab a heavy snack for breakfast then dine there for a relatively early lunch.

I do know that my toddlers ask for breakfast as soon as they wake up.  Therefore, I always pack some cereal bars or peanut butter crackers in my luggage.  That way I can give them something before we even get to the parks.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!
