    I am purchasing a customized magicband through shopDisney. Do I still order a regular magicband for my daughter who will be using the customized one? How does the customized one get activated?

    Hi Donna!

    Thanks for your question. The complimentary MagicBands are very nice, but we plan to go customized this year (there are some really cool Star Wars themed MagicBands we got our eyes on).

    If you plan to use a customized MagicBand, you do not need to order the complimentary one for your daughter.

    To get her customized MagicBand activated, you will need to do the following:

    1. Go to DisneyWorld.com and click on "My Disney Experience" (you will need to register first if you've never used My Disney Experience).
    2. Once you're in, you would hover over the "My Disney Experience" at the top and choose "My MagicBands and Cards."
    3. You will then scroll down until you see "Link a MagicBand." Click the "Link" button. Then look behind your daughter's customized band and search for the MagicBand ID Number. Once you locate the number, you can then link the MagicBand to your account and assign to the appropriate family member (your daughter in this case).
