We purchased my 16 year old a annual pass for Christmas, as I work by Disney I would like to run over there and activate it on her Magic Band. Do I need to have her with me? or can I just run over there myself and get it done before hand.

    Hi Lynn,

I'm sure your daughter is going to love her gift of a year of Walt Disney World fun. If I recall correctly, both my daughters were asked to show ID to activate their Florida Resident annual passes once they turned 16, so I believe she would need to be with you to activate the pass. Regardless, I think you'll want to wait until she's along to activate the pass since the expiration date is one year from first use, not from date of purchase.

If you activate it before she's ready to spend a day at Walt Disney World, she will miss out on a full year of admission.

Make sure you both check out the list of benefits for passholders, including discounts on dining, shopping and more.

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Lynne. Wishing your daughter a magical year of Disney fun!
