I purchased two 3-day Discovery tickets and reassigned one to a friend. Will I need to be there with them when they first pick up the ticket or will they be able to enter the park without me? We do not have magic bands or cards to enter the parks.

    Hi Amanda!

Thanks for sending your questions to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! So wonderful to hear from a fellow Floridian! To use tickets for theme park entry, the person receiving the reassigned ticket must have an active MagicBand or card. Otherwise, they would have to visit any theme park ticket window or Guest Relations location when they arrive at Walt Disney World Resort.

With regards to whether you need to be present or not depends on who's My Disney Experience Account your friend is on. If they have their own My Disney Experience Account (and is linked to yours), they should be able to see the reassigned ticket under the section "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets". If this is the case, they should be able to get a card at any ticket window once they provide their My Disney Experience Account information. If you simply added them to your Family and Friends List and you "manage" them, then you may need to be present to provide information. I would recommend that you and your friend purchase a MagicBand, which can be linked to your My Disney Experience Account. This would allow you both to bypass the ticket window and head straight to the touch point entrance.

Also, please be aware that if the ticket reassigned is a Florida Resident Discount Ticket, your friend may be asked to provide his/her proof of Florida Residency in order to utilize the ticket.

Hope this helps Amanda! It has been a pleasure assisting you. Please feel free to send me any other questions you may have!
