If I purchased my tickets and have my reservation but now found out I need to purchase a Genie pass and the another pass for certain rides, can I add those now? I know it asked if I wanted a Genie pass when I initially purchased them

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Yolanda!

You’re as welcome as can be to planDisney. I’m pleased to share with you some information to help make your Disneyland Resort visit even more magical.

All Disneyland Resort attractions have standby queue access included with your standard theme park ticket purchase. Many of the more popular attractions also feature a separate Lightning Lane queue which allows Guests to experience the attraction with a shorter wait time. Most attractions with Lightning Lane are accessed by adding the Disney Genie+ option to your park ticket. A few attractions with Lightning Lane queues are not included with Genie+. Access to the Lightning Lane queues of these attractions is available for purchase on an individual basis.

Purchasing the Disney Genie+ service may be done at the time of ticket purchase or after arriving at the Disneyland Resort. To purchase Genie+ after arriving, your ticket must first be activated and used to enter a theme park. Then, use the Disneyland mobile app to purchase Genie+. To do so, you may access the “My Genie Day” screen from the feature menu (the ☰ button in the lower-right corner). Tap the “Get Disney Genie+ for Today” link, select the ticket or tickets to upgrade to phenomenal cosmic power, then follow the steps to check out and complete the purchase.

To make Lightning Lane reservations, find the participating attraction on the “Tip Board” screen. You’ll see the currently-posted standby wait time and the next available Lightning Lane time. If the Lightning Lane time works with your plans for the day, tap the “Book Experience” button to proceed. You’ll select which tickets to include in the reservation and confirm your choices. Booking a Lightning Lane return time for attractions not included with Genie+ uses a similar process. One additional step is to enter payment information during the reservation booking. Up to two individual Lightning Lane reservations may be purchased per ticket per day.

Tony’s Tip: Included with all regular theme park tickets is the complimentary Disney Genie service. You can begin telling Genie your wishes now. To do so, tap the “Get Started Now” button on the “My Genie Day” screen of the Disneyland app. Tell Genie your preferences for attractions, characters, and dining. At 7:00 am on the day of your visit, Genie will generate a recommended itinerary just for you. You can make adjustments to your itinerary throughout the day. Genie will continuously evaluate your inputs and adjust plans accordingly.

Yolanda, I have enjoyed using the Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ services at the Disneyland Resort. It is like having my own magic carpet to fly through the park so I can experience even more of my favorite attractions.

    Have a magical time!

    ~Tony
