I purchased tickets and made a reservation. How do I add on a FastPass?

    Hi Kirsten!

Thank you so much for sending this Disneyland Resort planning question to us hEAR at planDisney!

I'm so glad that you'll be visiting Mickey's house soon, Kirsten! Disneyland days are always the best days in my opinion. I'm so glad that you already have your Theme Park Admission Tickets as well as your Park Pass Reservations. The only things that are left are attractions and dining and you'll be done!

The FastPass and MaxPass systems we used to know before the historic theme park shutdown have been retired, but in their place we have the brand new Disney Genie+ add-on. This system is very, very similar to MaxPass where you make attraction reservations (now called Lightning Lanes) all through your Disneyland Mobile App. The Disney Genie+ purchase even includes all of the Disney PhotoPass pictures you capture each day that you have Genie+, both the on-ride attractions as well as the ones you have a Disney PhotoPass Photographer take!

To add the Disney Genie+ to your visit, you'll make this purchase each day after you've scanned into the theme park. You'll open up your Disneyland Mobile App and there are two ways to get there; either press the gray + button in the bottom center of the app, then click 'View My Genie Day and Tip Board', and then from the new page click 'My Day' near the top and from this page, you'll see a prompt to add Genie+ to your theme park ticket(s). Or, you can start from the home screen in the app, click the icon that looks like three stacked lines, click 'My Genie Day', and that will take you right to the page where you can purchase G+. Should you plan a future visit back to Mickey's house, you can also add Genie+ to your tickets at the time of purchase. But I actually like this al la carte, day-of version better because you can sort of test-drive it on day one and then even decide if you'd like to add Genie+ to your follow-up park days; or if some in your group would like to continue using it and others won't, this daily purchase plan gives you that option.

One last Genie+ pointer: of the attractions that have Lightning Lanes that are included with the Genie+ purchase, there are currently three attractions that are called 'Individual Lightning Lanes', where instead of getting access to their queue through Genie+, you purchase admission individually. These attractions currently are Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Radiator Springs Racers, and WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure. Click hEAR for everything you'll need to know between Lighting Lanes and Individual Lightning Lanes. It might feel overwhelming, but know that you do NOT have to purchase Genie+ to be able to purchase Individual Lighting Lanes.

I hope that this helped to clEAR up your question, Kirsten! Be sure to follow the official planDisney Instagram account for even more tips and tricks. And if you have any more Disneyland Resort planning questions, We're All Ears!
