Hiya Sherri - welcome to
planDisney!
I'm so glad you stopped by with your question about your upcoming visit to
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios! Spending time in this immersive land is one of my favorite things to do during a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. With the amazing attractions, shopping from the merchants at Black Spire Outpost, and delicious local food from Batuu (the
Ronto Wrap and
Blue Milk are my favorites), there's always something to do while artfully dodging The First Order with your Resistance friends.
Building your very own custom astromech droid unit at
Droid Depot is a popular and unique experience for visitors to Black Spire Outpost. Advance reservations are highly recommended, but at times there can be a limited number of same-day reservations or walk-ins available, however, in my experience, these have been rare. If this experience is a must-do for your crew, I suggest continuing to check for Droid Depot reservations for the entire length of your visit - as other Guests' plans change, additional spots are likely to open up as your trip gets closer.
If you are able to secure a Droid Depot reservation and it is on a different day, you can either modify your existing
Park Pass Reservation or if needed, cancel it and create new park reservations to align with your Droid Depot reservation. Modifications or cancelations of Park Pass Reservations can be made
online in the My Plans area of My Disney Experience. If you see a
Modify button, your reservation is eligible for modification. If not, you'll need to cancel your existing reservation(s) and make new reservations - just make sure to check the
availability calendar to ensure the Park Pass Reservations you desire are available!
It's important to mention that you can
make a Droid Depot reservation without already having a Park Pass Reservation for Disney's Hollywood Studios on that day, but in order to actually
use that Droid Depot reservation, you
do need to have a valid park ticket and Park Pass Reservation for the day of your Droid Depot reservation. Basically, that just means that you don't need to change your current Park Pass Reservation unless you find a Droid Depot reservation on a different day. If that happens, hooray, but if not, you can keep your existing Park Pass Reservation for Hollywood Studios and speak to a Cast Member at Droid Depot to see if there are any day-of options for you.
I hope this helps, and I have my fingers crossed that you'll be able to enjoy this amazing experience!
Please let me know if any other questions pop up that I can help with.
