Brooke from BC Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We have purchased tickets and the forecast is for a downpour of rain. Can we change our ticket date to the next day? If so, how?

    Hiya, Brooke,

In most cases, it is not a problem to cancel an existing theme park reservation and book a new reservation with the same tickets. To do so, start by visiting the "My Theme Park Reservations" page. You can also get there by tapping on a park reservation you find under the “Future Plans” screen of the Disneyland mobile app. Click the “Cancel Reservation” link for the date you wish to change. Then, select the tickets you wish to include in the cancellation. After you confirm the ticket selection and finalize the reservation cancellation, your tickets will remain linked to your account. That way, you can return to the "My Theme Park Reservations" page to book a new reservation using the same tickets.

    Some things to note:

    • Reservations can be canceled up until 11:59 PM the day before the reservation. If you don’t get a chance to cancel before then, that’s OK. But you won’t be able to book a new reservation with those tickets until 12:00 AM the day after the original reservation.
    • Reservations must be available for the new date you wish to visit. I recommend checking the theme park reservation availability calendar before canceling an existing reservation.
    • Your tickets must be valid for the new date you wish to visit. If your tickets are blocked for a given date or are wholly unused and expire before you can use them, you may visit a main entrance ticket booth to first upgrade your tickets. Or you could reach out to a Cast Member with the Tickets phone line or via chat in the Disneyland mobile app.

Tony’s Tip: Some of my best Disneyland Resort memories happen to be times when Southern California wasn’t quite as sunny as it usually is. Should you find that you need to keep your original reservations and you do encounter rain showers, I would like to reassure you that you can still have a wonderful time. For the most part, the magic of the Disneyland Resort continues to flow, rain or shine. One of my favorite aspects of a rainy day at the Disneyland Resort is that attraction wait times tend to be shorter than usual. I recommend using an umbrella or poncho and appropriate footwear.

Whether it happens sooner or later, I hope you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort, Brooke. If you have any more questions, I hope we hear from you again soon at planDisney.

    ~Tony
