Hi, i purchased tickets for my family and my husband is handicap w/ wheelchair. Do i need a special ticket for him?

    Hello there, Baili!

Welcome to planDisney, and thanks so much for stopping by to ask your question. I’m happy to hear you’ll be traveling to the Disneyland Resort with your family soon!

I’m happy to share that your husband will not need special admission to enter or enjoy the parks-- the regular theme park ticket for Guests ages 10+ will be just fine. Many attraction queues are wide and flat enough to accommodate a mobility device. There are some attractions that load or unload at an alternate location or on different sides of the ride vehicle, so in some cases you may need to use another entrance even if his wheelchair could otherwise fit in the queue. You may also be given a return time based on the current wait time to experience an attraction rather than waiting in the regular standby line. Just check with a Cast Member at the beginning of each queue and they can provide guidance on the best procedure for you and your family.

Some resort attractions are fully accessible and others require a transfer from the wheelchair. You can see what category of access is offered for every attraction by visiting disneyland.com before your visit, or you can stop at City Hall in Disneyland Park or the Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park once you arrive to speak with a Guest Services Cast Member. They can assist you with assessing the accessibility and comfort of each attraction for your husband, but I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how much you’ll all be able to experience together! There are also special accommodations available for Guests in wheelchairs at shows, so see a Cast Member for assistance. If you have more questions or concerns about exploring the theme parks with a Guest in a wheelchair, please view these Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities.

I hope this information helps, Baili, and that your family has a magical experience at the Happiest Place on Earth! Please feel free to write back with any other planning questions you may have.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
