Hi Beckie,
Thanks for trusting planDisney with such an important question about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Your arrival is imminent so let's cut straight to the magic!
I understand you purchased theme park tickets for your entire party of nine. It's an honor to meet a real-life Fairy Godmother! I also understand that at least one other member of your party has their own My Disney Experience account. I need you to check something for me. Please take a look at your
Family and Friends List in My Disney Experience. If the words "Plans managed by me" appear next to anyone's name, that means you manage their My Disney Experience account profile. If those words appear next to someone that has their own My Disney Experience account, take these steps to merge the account profile housed under your account with their separate account:
1. Click "Update" next to their name as it appears on your Family and Friends List.
2. Click "Share planning with [person's name]."
3. Enter the email address associated with that person's My Disney Experience account and click "Continue."
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for additional family members as needed.
Once each family member accepts the email invitation to connect, all of the plans housed under your account will automagically transfer to their account. You will remain connected as Family and Friends, which means you can view and make plans for each other.
Children under the age of 13 cannot have their own My Disney Experience account and it sounds like the account profiles for the three children in your party are currently housed under your account. Cast Member assistance is required to change the adult that manages a child's profile; however, any adult can view and make plans for the children as long as they are connected as Family and Friends. I manage my children's My Disney Experience account profiles, for example, but my husband can include them in dining reservations, purchase Disney Genie+ service for them, view their Disney PhotoPass photos, etc.
To add the children to their Family and Friends List, mom or dad should click "Add a Guest" at the bottom of their Family and Friends List. The children's names should automagically appear as long as the parents are already connected to you and your Family and Friends List is shared.
Valid admission, a theme park reservation, and a
method of entry (MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card) are currently required for theme park entry. Only the managing adult can view a child's MagicBand and admission card information in My Disney Experience. The managing adult is also the only one that can create a
Disney MagicMobile pass for a child, but a MagicMobile pass can be
shared with others once created.
Still with me, Fairy Godmother Beckie? Your main goal is to make sure everyone in your family is connected as Family and Friends in My Disney Experience before you enter your first park. I'm happy to
keep this conversation going until you feel comfortable accomplishing this task.
Plan magic; planDisney.
