We have purchased tickets earier this summer for a family trip to Disneyland but for unseen circumstances we could not go at that time. Will these tickets expire at the end of this year or can we carry them into next year for our family trip?

A warm welcome from all of us at planDisney to you, Sandra. Thanks for stopping by to share your question with us. Oh, bother. I'm so sorry to hear that you weren't able to make your visit to the Disneyland Resort as planned this summer. Not to worry, let's walk through some of your options.

Hakuna matata, Sandra. It means no worries and there's no worries when it comes to the flexibility built into Disneyland Resort theme park tickets. There are a couple of places where you can check for your tickets' expiration date. It is referenced in the email confirmation you received when you initially purchased the tickets. You can also find the expiration date on your tickets in the Disneyland app. Tap on "☰" to open the menu, followed by tapping the "Tickets and Passes" tile. Here you should find your theme park tickets with the expiration date listed under the barcode.

There are also no worries if you aren't able to visit before your tickets' expiration date. You can apply the value of a wholly unused theme park ticket (excluding special event tickets) toward the purchase of a new theme park ticket as long as the cost of the new ticket is greater than or equal to the price paid for the original ticket. The magic will always be ready and waiting for you.

There are so many wonderful new things to explore at the Disneyland Resort. Most recently, the reimagined Adventureland Treehouse opened in Disneyland Park. I'm really looking forward to exploring this attraction the next time I'm at the theme park. And of course, I always love spending time in San Fransokyo Square in Disney California Adventure Park. There are so many new delicious eats to feast on and I haven't checked everything off my list quite yet. I highly recommend picking up a Baymax Bread from Aunt Cass Café. I love taking this adorable snack home with me to help prolong the magic.

Sandra, I hope this is helpful as you are taking the first steps toward planning your magical visit. If we can help with any other tips or advice, please come back to ask us. Until then, here's wishing you a magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
