I will purchased tickets for Disneyland park and when I went to make a theme park reservation it said 'Unable to Make a Theme Park Reservation'

    Hi Cordia,

Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you are getting ready for a magical visit to the Disneyland Resort in just a few days. Purchasing tickets and making a theme park reservation are important first steps to enjoying the magic. Let's take a look at why you might be seeing that message so we can clear the path to a wonderful day in the parks.

I hope to have some good news for you. If you purchased your theme park ticket from the Disneyland website, you likely made your theme park reservation as part of the process. I know sometimes it can sound like this is an extra step. During the process, you are asked to choose a date and a park, and once your purchase is confirmed, your reservation should be all set. If you then went to make a reservation from here, you would receive the "Unable to Make A Theme Park Reservation" messaging because there is already a reservation linked to your ticket. We can easily check by heading into the Disneyland App and tapping the three-line icon in the bottom right-hand corner. Scroll down to "Future Plans" and then scroll down again to see any upcoming theme park reservations for any theme park tickets that are linked to your account. I'm hoping your reservations are all set for you right here!

Another scenario may be if you are trying to make a theme park reservation for a date that is in a higher tier than your current ticket allows. Single-day tickets fall into tiers 0 - 6 depending on day of the week and time of year. A Tier 6 ticket is the most expensive, but has the least amount of blackout dates, whereas Tier 0 is the least expensive with the most blackout dates. Not to worry, though, even if you have a current ticket in a lower tier, if there is reservation availability for your preferred day, you can upgrade your ticket to the appropriate tier right in the Disneyland app as well. When you tap the three-line icon again, this time select "My Tickets & Passes". Scroll to the ticket you would like to update and tap the "Change Ticket" icon just below the barcode. Select your ticket on the next screen, followed by "Change Dates". You will then see a calendar, which will reveal the additional cost to upgrade your ticket to a different tier. You can complete the transaction right in the app itself! If you are still having difficulty making a reservation, I would recommend calling the Guest Services team, as they can see further into your account and will be able to help you out and answer any specific questions you may have.

Cordia, I hope this has been helpful and you are well on your way to the magic! While you are exploring the app, I highly recommend familiarizing yourself with the Mobile Order feature, which is my personal favorite! This is a quick and easy way to order quick-service meals and treats so you don't waste a pixie-dusted minute. You simply place your order, select a return window, and then head to the restaurant when it's time. Skip the line and enjoy your sweet or savory treats!

If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at planDisney.

    Magic awaits!
