Hi Sharon, and welcome to planDisney!
Sometimes our vacation plans need to be changed and adjusted – it happens. For a trip to
Disneyland Resort, whenever a Guest needs to
change their reservation date, they must first cancel their reservation online, then, using the same theme park ticket, make a new reservation.
However, it sounds to me that you were not aware that you could have re-booked a new reservation and instead bought a second ticket. Typically, theme park tickets are
non-refundable. Although you will not receive a refund for your first ticket, you can use that ticket for a future visit. You may also consider speaking on the
phone with a Cast Member to see if there are any other options than using the ticket for a future visit. However, I cannot guarantee there will be another option.
I hope you enjoyed your time at the Happiest Place on Earth a few weeks ago. If you purchased
Genie+ and took pictures with a Disneyland Resort photographer, do not forget that Genie+ includes free
Disney PhotoPass downloads.
Best wishes,
Lola
