Hi Melanie, welcome to planDisney!
That's a great question, and I'll do my best to clarify!
When the
Disneyland Resort re-opened, a
theme park reservation system was implemented, requiring Guests to have both a theme park reservation and a valid
theme park ticket to enter the parks. If you purchased your tickets directly through the Disneyland Resort website, you would have selected the day you want to visit, and a reservation would have been booked as part of your ticket purchasing process.
If you purchased your tickets through another retailer, you would first need to add your tickets to your Disneyland Resort account before you can make a reservation. I always found this to be the easiest through the
Disneyland Mobile App. Once you download the Mobile App, open it up, click the three horizontal lines in the bottom right-hand corner, and select "Tickets and Passes", and then select "Link Tickets & Passes". Next you scan the barcode of your ticket that you would like to link. Once your ticket is linked, head on over to the Disneyland Resort website, select the "My Disneyland" link, click the "Ticket and Reservation Details" link, and then select "Make Park Reservations".
OH! And don't forget about
dining reservations! Dining reservations can be booked up to 60 days in advance, so your window is just about to open up! Be sure to book early as the popular dining locations tend to get booked quickly.
Hope I was able to help!
See ya real soon!
