Hello and welcome to planDisney, Trisha! We're so glad you stopped by to ask us this question. Don't you just love it when you reach into your jacket pocket and find a dollar that you forgot about? Even better, you found a ticket to the Disneyland Resort!
I also love that your son has decided that he wants to celebrate his birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth. I can't think of a better place to celebrate such an occasion. Typically, the amount paid for any
wholly unused and expired ticket (excluding special event tickets) can be applied toward the purchase of a new theme park ticket at the current price as long as the cost of the new ticket is greater than or equal to the amount paid for the original ticket.
It sounds like your ticket expired quite some time ago, so I'm not sure if this also applies to your ticket. Your best bet may be to reach out to a friendly Cast Member at the
phone line for Tickets for help. They will be able to access your account to see what kind of ticket you have and offer assistance.
You will be visiting during
Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. It's one of my favorite times of the year and sure to be a ghoulishly good time. All of the characters get in the spirit with spooky costumes and the resort is decked out in
gourd-geous fall adornments. Make sure to pick up a complimentary "Happy Birthday!" button for your son to wear during your visit. It's always fun to get birthday greetings from Cast Members (and sometimes other Guests) throughout the day. You can pick this up at City Hall or in most shops on Main Street, U.S.A.
Trisha, I hope this helps and gives you the next step for your magical planning. Here's hoping you have a magically memorable day. Say hello and wave to the giant Mickey pumpkin for me!
