You can typically upgrade theme park tickets as long as the new ticket is equal or greater in value, though certain caveats may apply.
For example, I have had trips in the past where I had paid to add on additional days to our
theme park tickets and also to add on the
Park Hopper option. It's usually fairly flexible!

call a Cast Member at the Tickets line to walk through what options you might have. They'll be able to access your current ticket and let you know if there are ways to upgrade it as you mentioned.
It looks like you're planning your visit over summer time and will get to partake in the
Disneyland Resort's 70th Celebration, which runs through early August. There are a lot of fun things happening around the Happiest Place on Earth during this celebration, but my favorite is the
Paint the Night Parade! I grew up loving the Electrical Light Parade, and this parade really captures the magic in a new and more vibrant way.
