I purchased a ticket for someone who can no longer go, is there any way for me to cancel that ticket? If not is there anything I can get in place of this person no longer going?

Hey there, Haley! We're excited to see you planning a trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth; thanks for stopping by planDisney today with your question!

I'm sorry to hear that your friend's plans have changed and they are no longer able to visit with you; while Theme Park Tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable once purchased, they will never lose their value. So even if your friend is not able to use the ticket, you have a few options I can share with you!

    • Reassign the unused ticket to another Guest. If the ticket has not been used, you can log into your My Disney Experience account and reassign the ticket to another Guest on your Family and Friends list. This is a great option if someone else will be traveling in your friend's place for this trip. To do so, from your My Disney Experience mobile app, select Tickets and Passes and find the ticket you wish to reassign; if eligible, you will see an option to Reassign Ticket.
    • Change the date on the ticket for use on a different visit. You will be able to retain the value of the ticket, but can move the date for use on another visit; you can do this in addition to reassigning the ticket as well through your My Disney Experience mobile app.
    • Another thing to consider is if the ticket was purchased as part of a vacation package, you can modify your reservation in your My Disney Experience account to remove the traveler completely, which will also remove the unused ticket. To do so, just log into your account, click on My Plans, and then scroll down to find your reservation details. To the right you will see a Change Reservation option which will allow you to modify your travel party to remove the extra Guest.
Haley, I hope this helps you find a practically perfect solution for using this ticket! If you have any other planning questions before your visit, come on back to planDisney and let us know! We're always happy to help you navigate the magic!
