Noel from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I purchased SoCal resident tickets for myself and a friend but she has a military ID. Will that work for proof of residency?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Noel. We're so glad you stopped by to share this question with us. It won't be much longer until you will be walking down Main Street, U.S.A. and I'm happy to help you prepare.

I'm so glad to hear that you're taking advantage of the California Resident Park Hopper Ticket Offer. This is such a great way to get in three magical visits to the Disneyland Resort through May 21, 2026.  This offer is available to residents who live in ZIP codes 90000-96199. Each person using this type of ticket must provide a valid government-issued photo ID that shows proof of residency for admission. My understanding is that military IDs typically do not indicate an address that can be used as proof of residency, so it unfortunately won't be accepted.

If your friend isn't able to provide proof of residency, you can always apply the value of the wholly unused ticket towards the purchase of a new theme park ticket as long as the new ticket price is equal to or greater than the amount paid for the original ticket. You can reach out to a friendly Cast Member at the phone line for Tickets for assistance with this. If you or another friend or family member might be able to use the second ticket, you can always give the ticket to them and then your friend can take advantage of the 3-Day Military Promotional Park Hopper Ticket.

This ticket offer is available to Eligible Service Members and can be purchased at a participating US military base. The Eligible Service Member will be required to provide a valid military ID to use and activate these tickets. I strongly recommend carefully reading all of the details for this ticket offer. You unfortunately won't be able to apply the value of the California Resident Ticket Offer to this special offer, as these tickets are sold by a third party at a participating US military base.

Noel, while this might not be the answer you were hoping for, I hope that the information I shared is still helpful. If you have any other questions, please come back and share them with us. Until then, I'll be sending all the pixie dust your way in the hopes that everything gets sorted for your magical visit.
