Hi there, Carolyn!
Welcome to
planDisney, and thanks for asking us this great question about
Disneyland Resort theme park tickets. I’m glad to hear you’d like to return to the Happiest Place on Earth with your family!
Yes, even if it has expired, the price you paid for a completely unused
theme park ticket can be applied as a credit toward the purchase of a valid ticket at the current price, and you can indeed upgrade your ticket to one for ages 10 and up for your grandson to use. You may do this by visiting a Main Entrance Ticket Booth in the Esplanade between the two theme parks or by calling the ticket helpline at (714) 781-4636 for assistance from a Cast Member. Be sure to have all your original ticket information handy.
Then, once you have your new ticket, it’s easy to link it to the
Disneyland mobile app and make a
theme park reservation for your grandson. You can also check the
Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar in advance to make sure there are reservations available for the dates you plan to visit
Disneyland Park and/or
Disney California Adventure Park.
I hope this helps, Carolyn, and that you have a wonderful trip to the Happiest Place on Earth soon! Please ask us any other planning questions you can dream of before setting off on your vacation.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
