    I have purchased refillable mugs from the resorts we have stayed at in the past. Can I use them during our next visit to Disney at the resort and refill for free or do I need to purchase new ones?

    Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for bringing your question here today, I’m happy to help. 

    I have to admit that I have a small collection of Walt Disney World Resort Refillable mugs from trips in the past, they are a great souvenir! The 16-oz plastic mugs, available for sale at Disney Resorts Collection hotels, are good for the length of stay up to 14 days. They include unlimited refills of soft drinks, coffee and tea at self-service stations at Quick-Service locations at your Disney Resort hotel. I love that many resorts have refill stations located next to the pool. 

    I wish I had better news for you but unfortunately, the chip in the Resort Refillable mugs expires after 14 days and are not currently reprogrammable. My family likes to use them around our pool since they do a pretty good job of keeping beverages cold.

    If you’re looking at purchasing a new mug on your next trip, you might find one with a new design. The designs change periodically with the current mugs showcasing Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy road tripping to Walt Disney World Resort.
