We purchased re-fillable mugs in February of this year. Are we able to use the same mugs and pay to reactivate the mugs when we go in October? Or will we have to purchase all new mugs?

    Hi Laurie,

Welcome Home!  How wonderful to have two magical vacations at Walt Disney World in the same year.  I did some checking and found out that you may pay to reactivate a Rapid Fill Resort mug providing the RFID chip is still working. If your mug has been in the microwave or dishwasher, the RFID chip might be damaged.  However you will still pay the same price to reactivate as you would for a new mug.

Personally I love my collection of thermal mugs and find they make great souvenirs or gifts for friends and family.  It sounds like you like to recycle, so instead of bringing your mugs back for your October vacation consider giving some as a gift to your unfortunate friends who are Disney Mug-less.  A Disney Resort mug containing a packet of Ghirardelli hot cocoa mix would be a great gift for a friend or teacher.

Thank you for taking time to submit your question to us Laurie.  If you have any further questions, please write back to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  We really do love helping other friends with their Disney vacation planning.  Enjoy your "Double Dip" year!

    Blessings,

I fell in love with Walt Disney World on my very first visit, which took place during my honeymoon. Since then we have added 4 "mouseketeers" to our family and have come to appreciate what a great value a Walt Disney World vacation can be on a budget. As a Physical Therapist and a mom of a large family, I would love to help you plan your next magical trip! Learn More About Brenda
