Hiya, Brittany! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with such a great question!
As a fellow Louisianian, one of the most important parts of any party or vacation is the food, am I right?! So, I'm thrilled to see that you've made your Walt Disney World Resort visit that much more magical (and delicious) by adding the
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan. My favorite part of using the Dining Plan is leaving my worries and my wallet behind and just soaking up all the magic. Now, let's chat about some very serious business: snacks.
I must admit that it can be difficult to find out what items qualify as a snack on the Dining Plan on the
Walt Disney World website and My Disney Experience app. The in-person menus will have a purple and white "DDP" logo next to items that are eligible for purchase on the Dining Plan, but since they are subject to change, this usually is not posted on the website. But Hakuna Matata! It means "no worries." I'll let you in on my little secret way to plan out my snacks in advance.
To get a better idea of the snacks you'll be able to enjoy on the Dining Plan, during park operating hours, log into the My Disney Experience app, tap the plus sign at the bottom of the screen, and then tap "Order Food." Now, I know we aren't
Mobile Ordering any food yet, but hear me out. Once you tap "Begin Order" for any of the participating dining locations, you can see the menu that is currently available. Just look for the magical words "Qualifies as a Snack" under the items. It's time to start making that must-have snack list!
Speaking of must-haves, for me, happiness is a giant Joffrey's donut in the parks. Mmmm. I think you will be happy to hear that when my family and I used the Disney Dining Plan this summer, we were able to use our snack credits to purchase these oh-so-yummy sweet treats. Is it just me or do the pink ones just taste better?
My family and I enjoyed the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival this year, and we were pleasantly surprised by how many festival food items qualified as a snack credit! And I think you'll be happy to see the same this year. While you're out at the festival, just keep your eyes peeled for the purple and white "DDP" symbol next to the food and drink items on the menus at each food booth. Happy festing!
Some of my favorite items to snack on when I'm using the Dining Plan are Mickey pretzels with cheese. The Pepper Jack Pretzel from Cheshire Cafe and the Cream Cheese Warm Stuffed Pretzel from The Lunching Pad cannot be missed, and a Mickey Waffle with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, Bananas, Berries, and Cream from Sleepy Hollow is a top-tier snack in Magic Kingdom. In EPCOT, don't skip a thing from
Karamell-Kuche in Germany or
Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie in France. YUM!
I hope this was helpful, Brittany, and I hope you have the most magical vacation, full of food and fun! If you have any other questions on your planning journey, feel free to swing by and
ask me. You've got a friend in me!
Happy snacking,
Mandy
