I purchased a pullover dress that resembles Ariel‘s dress from her excursion into town with Eric. It’s for a school function, but our school is also bringing us to Disneyland for Staff appreciation in April and I wanna make sure that I can wear it

Hi Crystal! Thanks for visiting planDisney.

Dressing the part can be a fun way to experience the parks! Many Guests DisneyBound, wearing outfits inspired by their favorite Characters, without wearing costumes. My family has become one with the Force by dressing in outfits reminiscent of out-of-this-world styles. That's perfectly acceptable, and it sounds like your Ariel dress might fall into this category. However, it's best to take a look at the park rules just to be sure. All persons, bags, and clothing are subject to screening and security checks, and it's up to the discretion of the Cast Member whether you can safely be admitted. I know you don't want to be turned away on your magical day!

Scroll down to Guest Courtesy and Attire Policies for more information on appropriate park attire. At this time, anyone 14 or over can't wear a costume. You don't want to have anyone mistaking you for Ariel! But you can be inspired by her. Additionally, your clothing shouldn't drag on the ground, and anything involving multiple layers might require additional inspection. If you think your outfit meets these requirements, you should be ready for your appreciation day. Just to be safe, I'd also suggest having something packed in a backpack or purse in case a quick change is necessary. That way, you're not left behind should the dress be deemed too much like a costume.

April is a great time to visit the parks! I'd bring a layer to pop on over your dress for early mornings and evenings, when it can be cooler. Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a refillable water bottle are good choices too. Plus, don't forget comfortable shoes! Ariel might rock a ballet shoe, but I wouldn't make it for very long in the parks in mine.

    Have a magical day!
