Hey there, Pauline. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
I am excited to see that you are interested in upgrading your Walt Disney World theme park ticket to include the
park hopper option. I am a big fan of park hopping, in fact, it is my preferred park touring method. My perfect Disney day starts out at Magic Kingdom in the early morning enjoying some of my most favorite attractions. Then, around lunchtime when the park tends to be its busiest, I like to head back to my Walt Disney World Resort Hotel for an afternoon swim. After some fun in the Florida sun, I typically will clean up and head over to Epcot for snacks and drinks around The World Showcase in the evening. It's a wonderful way to spend a day at Walt Disney World.
I think you will be happy to know that you are able to upgrade your tickets that you've already purchased to include the park hopper option. To do that you can call the
existing tickets helpline at (407)566-4985 and speak to a Cast Member about upgrading your tickets. If you don't want to hassle with a phone call, you can upgrade your tickets once you've arrived. Any of the ticket booths at the entrance of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, Guest Relations and the concierge at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel will be able to do this for you.
I am so glad that park hopping has officially returned to Walt Disney World, but I should mention that it does look a little bit different these days. Here is how park hopping is currently working:
- Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
- Guests wishing to park hop must make a park pass reservation for the first park they wish to visit each day
- Guests wishing to park hop must scan in and visit the theme park with the park pass reservation first
- Park hopping hours begin at 2:00 p.m. each day and last until park closing
- Park hopping is subject to capacity limitations at this time
To make park hopping more convenient for Guests at this time, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is being offered. At the bus stop, a Cast Member will be verifying you do have the park hopper option added to your ticket with just a quick scan of your MagicBand. Once verified you'll be able to board a bus for your next destination. If the park you are wishing to hop to is at capacity, that Cast Member will let you know and you can adjust your plans from there. I've been park hopping since its return, a little over two months now, and have not yet run into that problem but I did want to make you aware that it could happen.
I hope you are able to get your tickets all squared away, Pauline. If you have any more questions,
I'd love to help.
Have fun!
