Welcome to
planDisney, Sara! We're so glad you're here with a great question about your spring vacation.
My family and I were thrilled when park hopping once again became part of our world. Our typical days in Walt Disney World start early, include a midday break for a nap and some pool time, and end with a relaxing dinner and some attractions. We prefer to visit the
Magic Kingdom Park and
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park during the morning hours, while
EPCOT and
Disney's Hollywood Studios are our favorite parks to spend an evening. We love the spontaneity and flexibility that park hopping affords us.
Sara, you can
call to modify your theme park tickets to include the park hopper option, but the extra charge will be for the entirety of the ticket, as you are not able to upgrade individual days.
The good news is, you don't have to decide right away, or even before your trip begins. You can upgrade tickets during your visit, right up until
the final day of use. If, after one day of touring a theme park, you decide that you would prefer to park hop on subsequent days, simply visit a ticket or Guest Relations window outside of any theme park, and a friendly Cast Member will grant your wish. Keep in mind that the park hopper upgrade will be added retroactively to days that have already been redeemed, but this does allow you to be in the parks for a day or two before making the final choice.
For my family, park hopping is almost always a must, but after visiting this past summer when the option was not available to us, we did find value in fully immersing ourselves in one theme park per day. It was a relaxing way to tour, and we enjoyed new experiences we might have missed had we been preoccupied with rushing off to another park.
Sara, I hope this information helps with your decision. I bet you are getting so excited that it's almost time for your spring getaway! You're visiting at one of my favorite times of the year. While Elsa is still putting a frost on things up north, the weather in Florida is usually fabulous in March. Keep your eyes on the
Disney Parks Blog for announcements regarding upcoming special events and attraction openings (my family and I are eagerly awaiting the debut of
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure!), and if there is anything else we can help with, send more questions our way. We're all ears!
See ya real soon,
Betsy
