Hi Jeffrey! Thanks so much for bringing your question to us here at planDisney. Oh boy, you are in for such a treat visiting the Happiest Place on Earth during the
merriest time of the year. You will love seeing Mickey and Minnie in their holiday best, enjoying some favorite attractions all dressed up for the holidays, and, of course, the season's sweet treats are not to be missed!
A
Disneyland Resort Vacation Package is a great way to experience all the magic of both
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park. The week before Christmas can have some hustle and bustle, so it's a good idea to lock those theme park reservations in early. I think I have some good news for you!
Theme park reservations can be made up to 120 days ahead of time and your mid-December dates were not open for reservations until just a few days ago. I just took a look at the
calendar myself and it looks like you can book reservations through December 18th as of today. December 19th will be available tomorrow, December 20th the following day, and so on. You can either book the reservations day by day as they become available or wait until your full window is open and book them all at one time. It's up to you! Reservations are subject to availability, so I love to see that you are trying to book these early!
While there will be lots of
holly jolly in the parks to enjoy, I love to recommend taking a midday break at
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. With the Craftsman-style architecture and sweeping ceilings in the lobby, this spot is a great place to catch your breath and let the magic of the season settle in around you. This lobby also happens to be the site of the beloved annual gingerbread house display! Grab a hot chocolate and soak it all in! This year, all three hotels of the Disneyland Resort will feature themed Christmas trees and you may even catch the occasional group of carolers making their way through each of the lobbies. I just love to think about the holidays spilling out of the parks and making their way through all corners of the Disneyland Resort!
Jeffrey, I sure hope this was helpful in your planning! Be sure to EARmark your calendar at the 60-day mark as this is when
dining reservations will open up to you! Once those reservations are in place, all that's left is some Disneyland daydreaming! If you have any more questions, you know where to find us here at
planDisney!
Be merry!
Tara
