i have purchased a package deal,(hotel and tickets)(from the uk)and have added the quick service dining plan on to it. if i wanted to move resort would that result in the loss of the dining plan

Welcome back to planDisney Jake, and thank you for stopping by with your question! I’m excited to help you as you plan your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. Booking a package with both hotel and tickets, along with the Quick Service Dining Plan, is such a smart way to simplify your trip and make the most of your time in the parks. Planning for a stay at a Disney resort comes with lots of choices, and sometimes you might find that switching resorts could better suit your family’s needs or preferences. I’d love to explain how changing resorts can affect your dining plan and what to watch for so you can make any adjustments and keep all the magic intact.

If you decide to change your resort at Walt Disney World and your current booking is a package that includes both hotel and tickets with the Quick Service Dining Plan, the dining plan should remain intact as long as the new resort is a Disney owned hotel that participates in the dining plan. This is because the plan is linked to your overall package, not the specific resort you initially booked.

Since you booked your package from the UK, it’s important to make any changes through the same Disney UK site or through your travel agent. This ensures that all aspects of your package, including the dining plan, are properly transferred and remain valid. Keep in mind that if the resort you want to move to is more expensive than your current one, Disney may ask you to pay the difference, but the dining plan itself should stay included in the package.

Essentially, switching resorts within the Disney system doesn’t normally result in the loss of your Quick Service Dining Plan. The main things to watch for are that the new resort is a Disney Resort Hotel and that your overall package type doesn’t change, so you can continue to enjoy all the dining benefits you booked.

Jake, I hope this helps you feel excited and prepared as you consider switching resorts for your Walt Disney World vacation. Thank you again for visiting planDisney with your question. Wishing you a truly magical trip filled with laughter, delicious treats, and unforgettable memories from the very first moment you step into the parks!
