Valerie from ON Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I had purchased the original 7 day Canada tickets that did not expire. My child is actually aging out of their ticket and we are unable to still go due to exchange rates and increased costs. Is there a way to change the child ticket to an adult ticket?

    Hi there Valerie,

Welcome to planDisney! I'm so happy you brought your question here today, helping fellow Canadians with all things related to Walt Disney World Resort

I was so happy to see a Canadian Resident Ticket offer available once again yet nothing beats the non-expiring Canadian tickets you purchased. Like you, I find myself in a similar scenario, holding onto non-expiring Canadian tickets for children who have outgrown them, and I completely understand the questions that arise in such situations. I spoke with a Cast Member in Ticketing and received clarification on what will happen to the aged-out tickets once they are ready to be used. I have great news for you, Valerie! Your aged-out child tickets will seamlessly transition into adult tickets at no additional cost. This transition will take place upon validation, where you'll simply need to present your Passport as proof of Canadian residency. Adults are required to show proof Canadian residency before first use (even for a child's ticket).

For the smoothest experience possible, Guests can conveniently head to the Welcome Center or Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs, a ticket window at a theme park or Guest Relations where dedicated Cast Members will assist with activating the tickets.  I find that timing our ticket activations at Disney Springs before our first day at the theme park ensures that everything is seamlessly set for our magical adventure ahead.

Like you, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for lower exchange rates soon, hopefully, things will line up and you'll be back in the theme parks with your family in no time. I hope this information is helpful to your vacation planning, please let me know if you have any other questions!

    Wishing you magical planning,
    Candace
