Hi there, Walter! Welcome to planDisney.
Mine is also a military family, and it’s always a pleasure to help fellow service members with their Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning. On behalf of my family and my fellow panelists, thank you for your service to our country.
I totally relate to your question, because my family also purchased 2020
Military Promotional Theme Park Tickets, and we had two cancelled trips last year. I know you are SO ready for your visit, so let’s get this ticket question straightened out.
It’s my understanding that, as a courtesy, military tickets purchased as part of 2020’s special offer had their expiration date extended as a courtesy. Mine show an expiration date of September 26, 2021. To check yours, you’ll need to log in to My Disney Experience.
If you don’t yet have a
My Disney Experience account, follow the steps to set one up. Then, select “Tickets and Passes.” You’ll see a “+” in the top right corner of the
My Disney Experience mobile app, and when you tap that, you’ll see “Link Tickets and Passes.” From there, enter the ID number on your ticket or exchange certificate and link each ticket to each member of your party. Once the tickets are linked, you should see the expiration date below the ticket information.
If you have an existing My Disney Experience account, tap “Tickets and Passes” and you should see any linked tickets connected to your account. The expiration date will show below the ticket information.
If you’re not able to visit by the new expiration date, Disney will allow you to apply the value of your wholly unused military ticket toward the purchase of a new ticket.
For a 2021 visit, you’ll also need to make Disney Park Pass reservations for each day of your visit. You can do that once your tickets are linked to each member of your party. Visit the
Disney Park Pass reservations web page and follow the instructions, or if you’re using the app, tap the “+” symbol in the bottom middle of the screen, and then tap “Make a Park Reservation” and follow the steps. You must have a park reservation for each day of your visit, so I recommend doing that soon to save your spot.
I hope this helps you get everything set for your visit! If you need help with any of these steps, the friendly
Existing Tickets Cast Members at (407) 566-4985 can help you out.
As you continue to plan and dream about your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort later this year, please come back and see us. It’s always a pleasure to help a fellow military family plan their together time.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
