Hi Krystle!
Welcome to planDisney.
I love
Memory Maker, and honestly, my trip is never complete without it. You don't need to worry because it is really simple to use - basically, all you need to do is smile and strike a pose!
Let me talk you through the process. Whenever you visit a Walt Disney World theme park you will see
PhotoPass Photographers all around. You won't miss their bright green "uniform", usually coupled with a line of guests waiting for their turn to be photographed. To help you locate them, pick up a Park Guide Map on your way into the park, on which their usual spots are marked. You just need the photographer to scan your MagicBand (or they'll give you a Disney PhotoPass card if you don't have a MagicBand) and then link that to your My Disney Experience account. MagicBands will link your photos automatically.
For example, refer to this
guide map for Disney's Hollywood Studios - the symbol is a camera on a tripod - you'll see them along Hollywood Boulevard, and Sunset Boulevard up to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. You'll also find them over at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge and Toy Story Land - if you look closely you'll see them everywhere! Sometimes there are characters involved or simply select backdrops.
Memory Maker gives you unlimited digital downloads of any photos taken of you and your group at the theme parks. I love the surprising photos from some of the rides!! It's one of the best ways to have fantastic photos of your entire party, in some of the most iconic, and sometimes most unusual, locations around the parks. There have been times when I have used the skills of PhotoPass Photographers who were wading around the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool and Castaway Creek - we got some great photos that year! This is unusual, but it has happened!
Remember to ask your Photopass Photographer for Magic Shots! You'll love the special effects added to your photos. They are also happy to take the same photos for you using your own camera or phone, if you wish.
If you are visiting Disney Springs, pop into the PhotoPass Studio (over at the Marketplace) for some more photo opportunities - all included in the price of Memory Maker.
To view and download your photos on your My Disney Experience, click on Photos if you are on the website, or if you are using the app, tap on the “≡” on the bottom right of the screen, then tap "Photos".
Enjoy making magical memories, and please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help you plan your vacation to Walt Disney World!
