Hi Beth, welcome to planDisney!
You've made a spooktacular decision to visit Walt Disney World Resort during October and a frightfully fun decision to attend
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in October. I'm still basking in an eerie glow after attending last night's Halloween party. My party and I had the best time dancing along with hype-man Max Goof in the Powerline preshow to Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade. We attended the 11:15 p.m. parade and Max arrived at the Main Street, U.S.A., train station at 11:30 p.m. The rest of the parade arrived at 11:45 p.m. and finished at 11:57 p.m.
I understand you're planning a double dose of magic on October 16 with general admission tickets plus special event tickets to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. You can purchase
Disney Genie+ service for your pre-party park time the morning of your park day in the Tip Board of your
My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines at the bottom right of the home page --> Tip Board --> Purchase for Today). You can purchase any time after midnight, but I recommend purchasing by 6:45 a.m. so you can book your first
Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction at 7:00 a.m. on the dot. You can purchase Disney Genie+ service for anyone in your party that appears on your
Family and Friends list.
Depending on your circumstances, you can purchase your next Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction after you have checked in at your first attraction, two hours after park opening, or two hours after you booked the initial attraction. You can continue making Lightning Lane reservations at Magic Kingdom Park until the park closes to non-party Guests at 6:00 p.m.
During Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which officially begins at 7:00 p.m., Disney Genie+ service is not offered, nor is it really needed. At last night's party, the average wait time for attractions was 15 minutes. I was especially impressed that the wait time for Space Mountain with the Halloween overlay (complete darkness and spooky music) was only 20 minutes.
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. Have a boo-tiful day!
