May from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I purchased the magic key specifically to come April 1st. When I purchased the key the date was available. It was not a block out day. It’s now saying no key availability. Is there anyway around this?

Hello, May! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney, and welcome to the world of Disneyland Magic Key holder. You've got a year of fun ahead of you!

I am sorry to hear that the date you wanted to go to the Disneyland Resort theme parks is currently unavailable, May. In times like this, I wish Genie would grant me a wish for park availability! You'll find that popular times of year - like Spring Break, Christmastime, and New Year's - tend to have reservations fill up well in advance. My strategy for booking important park days - like my kids' birthdays - is to book those dates as soon as they become available, 90 days in advance.

The good news is that the Magic Key Park Reservation Availability Calendar is constantly being updated, so even though the next couple of weeks are Spring Break for the local schools and tend to be busier, you may find success by constantly checking back to see if a reservation opens up. I've found success with snagging a park reservation even the night before by checking the calendar later in the evening. I hope this strategy and persistence work for you!

I also suggest that you follow the Disneyland Magic Key Instagram and Disneyland Instagram so that you know the goings-on in the parks. They are often the first to announce fun events and seasonal foods. They're a great resource!

Thanks again for stopping by, May. Please visit us again with any other planning questions.

    Magically yours,
    Melissa
