    We purchased magic bands that we were supposed to use in July 2020 but the park closed down how do I link these to our upcoming August vacation? And how do I know that the batteries will still be good I heard that they don’t last sometimes?

    Hello Donna!

    I am excited that you are planning a Walt Disney World vacation! I love using a MagicBand as my key to "the World" on my Walt Disney World vacations. I have over 50 MagicBands, so you can see that I love them!

    According to my experience, the battery inside the MagicBand is designed to last for up to two years or more, so you can use your MagicBand for more than one Walt Disney World vacation.  You can use your MagicBand from a previous Walt Disney World vacation for your next Walt Disney World vacation as long as it is linked to your My Disney Experience account. You can link your MagicBand by logging on to your My Disney Experience Account. Go to the My Profile page in the app and then select MagicBands & Cards. Next, you should choose Link a MagicBand or Card and input the MagicBand ID number (located on the back of your MagicBand). Make sure that the MagicBand you have was not previously linked to another Guest because MagicBands can only be linked to one Guest for the lifetime of the MagicBand. My advice is to bring your MagicBands on your Walt Disney World vacation and see if they work for park entry. If your MagicBand battery is depleted, you can purchase a new MagicBand at many Walt Disney World stores in the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs.

    Also coming this summer (2022), MagicBand+ will be coming out and will be available to purchase according to the Disney Parks Blog! I am very excited about MagicBand+, and I can't wait to use one in the parks!
