Ahoy there, Tonya!
Welcome aboard planDisney! I’m thrilled to hear you and your crew are about to embark on your
very first Disney cruise adventure. Your excitement must be bubbling over like Olaf spotting a beach chair in summer! And now you’ve got your MagicBand+ (or
DisneyBand+ as we like to call them on the cruise side of Disney) ready to join the fun—it’s like having a sprinkle of pixie dust right on your wrist.
Now, in order to link your MagicBand+ to your account and stateroom, you will need to follow this really extensive checklist that I’m about to break down step by step. Ready? Here we go! Wear your MagicBand+ to the cruise terminal for check-in. Checklist complete! That’s it—you’re officially a pro. As long as each sailor wears their bands to the terminal, the incredible Cast Members will work their magic, scan your bands, and link them to your account.
Once linked, your MagicBand+ becomes your trusty sidekick at sea. It will serve as your stateroom key, a way to charge purchases, and even your ticket to those magical moments captured by the ship’s photographers. Just remember, once a band has been linked, it
stays with that Guest permanently—kind of like Woody and Buzz.
If you’re visiting Walt Disney World before setting sail, you can link your MagicBand+ in the
My Disney Experience app to use it for theme park entry, Lightning Lanes, and more. But don’t worry—even if you’ve used it at Walt Disney World, it still needs to be linked at the port to be connected to your Disney Cruise Line reservation. Think of it as giving your band a “land and sea” double life, much like Ariel herself.
I hope this helps make your embarkation smooth sailing so you can focus on the fun ahead. Before you know it, you’ll be unlocking your stateroom with just a tap and waving your wrist like a true Disney pro.
Sea ya real soon as summer waves goodbye and autumn magic begins to shine,
Dustin
