I purchased a magic band for my cousin who can no longer go on our trip. Someone else is going on the trip in her place. Can The other person use the magic band that was meant for her?

    Hi Risa, welcome to planDisney!

The Grim Grinning Ghosts can't wait to come out and socialize with you at Walt Disney World Resort this October. Just last week we learned about the return of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. These special event tickets (translation: no additional theme park admission or theme park reservation required) go on sale as early as May 12 for Guests staying at select Disney Resorts Collection hotels. If you're staying a few nights, you'll even see the overnight transformation that occurs throughout the parks and resorts in early November. Pumpkins and fall foliage are replaced by wreaths and ornament-clad trees, giving Guests that visit during this magical time a taste of two seasons of celebration.

Valid admission, theme park reservations, and a method of entry (MagicBand, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card) are currently required for theme park entry. I'm sorry to hear your cousin has to miss out on the magic this trip, but am also glad you have found an alternate travel companion.

MagicBand is a functional accessory that can be used at various touchpoints throughout the parks. It lets you tap into convenience at park entry, Lightning Lane entrances, with Disney PhotoPass photographers, and more. If the MagicBand you purchased for your cousin has not been linked, Risa, you are welcome to link it to any individual you choose in My Disney Experience. If the MagicBand was previously linked to your cousin, I'm afraid it cannot be reassigned. MagicBands are unique to the person they are assigned to and non-transferable, even if they've never been used in the parks. If that information leaves your travel buddy without a MagicBand, they can either purchase a new band (MagicBand+ should even be released before your trip) or use another method of entry.

Using the Disney MagicMobile service available in the My Disney Experience mobile app, a Disney MagicMobile pass can be downloaded to the digital wallet of eligible iPhones, Apple Watches, or Google Pay enabled Android phones. My Apple Watch now serves as my MagicBand, which helps preserve my wrist real estate. As a third method of entry alternative, an admission card about the size of a credit card can be obtained at a Guest Relations window located outside the entrance of each park. The credit card used for the ticket purchase must be shown along with the cardholder's photo ID.

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your thoughtful question, Risa. Please let us know if there are any other questions we can help answer before your trip.

    Choose magic,
