Does purchased lightning lanes affect genie+

    Hello Jeffrey,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question! Planning a visit to Walt Disney World is always exciting, but there are so many options for where to stay, where to dine, what activities to do, and even which park tickets and add on options are best for your traveling party.

Individual Lightning Lane purchases and Disney Genie+ are completely independent of one another. One day you may be visiting Magic Kingdom decide you want to purchase Genie+ to be able to book Lightning Lanes for over 40 attractions throughout Walt Disney World. Another day, you may be visiting EPCOT and decide that you don't mind waiting in the standby lines for most of the attractions but you want to purchase Individual Lightning Lanes for Frozen Ever After and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. Then, possibly on your visit to Disney's Hollywood Studios, you decide that you want to purchase Genie+ AND get an Individual Lightning Lane for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

If you do have Genie+ and want to book an Individual Lightning Lane, these reservations are completely separate as well. At 7:00 AM you can make your first Genie+ reservation. Then, you need to wait either 120 minutes after park opening or enter your selected Lightning Lane queue before booking a new attraction. However, you can book your Individual Lightning Lanes at any time, even if you have a Genie+ return time scheduled, beginning at 7:00 AM if you are a Disney Hotel Resort guest, or at park opening. You can only purchase 2 Individual Lightning Lane attractions per guest, per day, but you can purchase both at the same time and schedule your return times.

Hope this helps. Have a magical day!
    Diane

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
