Hi there, Lorena!
Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question. I can see that you are planning to head to the parks tomorrow! You must be getting so excited, especially with the
70th Anniversary festivities now in full swing!
First things first, let's make sure you are set up for a successful day in the parks and a smooth arrival through those Main Entrance Gates. I have some good news to share. While you are asked to assign names to
park tickets during the checkout process, they are not officially assigned until they are scanned at the entrance for the first time. At that point, the system will take a photo of the Guest, and the ticket belongs to that Guest only from then on. There is no need to update the name ahead of time, but if you have specific questions, I'd recommend giving
Guest Services a ring as they can pull up your account directly.
I was just in the parks last week and was able to test out the
new upgraded entry gates. They help make the process quite quick and seamless. When you scan your ticket, the camera will adjust to your height, and you will be asked to tap the button to snap a photo. If you exit the parks and return, the next time you scan your ticket, your photo will pop up, and the machine will recognize you to open the gates. There are Cast Members staffed throughout just in case you have any questions or hiccups in the process, but I enjoyed this easy entry!
If you need to send the ticket to a friend so that they can enter and exit on their own, this is easily done with a few taps in the
Disneyland Mobile App. You will both need to have downloaded the app and logged in with your account information. Head to the hamburger icon in the bottom right-hand corner and select "My Tickets & Passes". The current ticket holder will stay here and scroll to the ticket. The new ticket holder will tap "+" in the top right-hand corner and select "Camera" to scan the barcode from your phone. Alternatively, you can share the ticket ID number underneath the barcode, and they can enter it manually by choosing "Type ID". That ticket should now magically appear in both of your accounts, and your friend can use it on their own.
I highly recommend taking a peek at the
Entertainment Schedule ahead of your visit! You won't want to miss
The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade strolling down Main Street, U.S.A. in honor of the 70th Anniversary. You'll see all your favorite pals in their birthday best!
I hope this was helpful, Lorena! If you have any more questions, please come back to see us here at planDisney.
Magic awaits!
