Magic Key can make you feel un poquititito loco. That’s okay. That’s what we’re here for at planDisney!
There are two ways that Disney confirms that you’re a California resident: your billing address and the government-issued photo ID you present when you first scan into the parks. If you’ve done those two things, your picture will be taken at the entry gates so Disney can verify it’s really you scanning in for future visits. It sounds like you’ve completed the first form of verification by purchasing the
Imagine Magic Key from an account with a California billing address. Unfortunately, you’ll need to wait until you receive a government-issued photo ID to scan in at the parks. Utility bills, even with a passport showing the same name, will not be accepted.
It’s okay! The pass is not activated until you scan into the parks for the first time. It may seem like you’re wasting time, but the clock hasn’t even started yet. I’d recommend applying for a state ID card through the California DMV. You could have your ID card within a month or so, and you’ll be off to the parks to experience the magic!
