Hi Dawn,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is coming up so soon! I'm thrilled you're going to be attending not just one Disney After Hours but both
Disney After Hours at Disney's Magic Kingdom Park AND
Disney After Hours at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. I've been fortunate enough to attend a few Disney After Hours events and I think you are going to be so pleased with your plans. I believe the parks are a completely different experience at night and with fewer people around.
Over the past few years, I have been trying to be more efficient and use less paper at home. I have to admit I like the comfort of having a printed copy of my Special Event tickets just in case there is some sort of problem. Fortunately, I haven't had a problem with any Special Event tickets as long as they show up in the My Disney Experience app. A barcode doesn't show up on My Disney Experience because they don't scan the app, they will scan your
MagicBand for entry. If you are not staying at a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and won't be using a MagicBand, you will want to bring a copy of your tickets. Additionally, if you are still uneasy about not having a printed copy of your tickets, you might consider taking a photo or screenshot of them with your smartphone. That way, in the unusual event of a problem, you would have the photo to show.
I know you are going to want to make the most of your purchases and visit as many attractions as possible, but I highly encourage you to spend a bit of time just walking through the park. It's a completely different experience to walk through any of the parks later in the evening, but the quieter atmosphere of
Disney After Hours makes it enchanting.
Dawn, thank you for visiting us with your question. I hope you will visit us again if you have any other planning questions. We'd love to help!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Amy H.
