Hi Lane,
Thanks for bringing your question about My Disney Experience accounts to planDisney. My own Disney experience has taught me a thing or two about troubleshooting and I'm happy to share my recommendations for the next right thing to do as you prepare for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
A
My Disney Experience account is the virtual space that houses all of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation entitlements: resort reservations, tickets, park passes, dining reservations, Disney PhotoPass photos, MagicBands, and more. It is not uncommon for a duplicate profile to be created by mistake as part of the various reservation processes. When an individual purchases tickets online, for example, they may unintentionally create a new profile for a person that already has a My Disney Experience account during the ticket assignment process.
To delete a duplicate member of your
Family and Friends list, select "My Family and Friends" from the My Disney Experience dropdown menu on the
Walt Disney World Resort website. Click "update" next to the person whose profile you would like to remove and "Remove from This List." My Disney Experience will not let you delete a profile with any active reservations or entitlements, so you'll know it was an unneeded account if it was successfully deleted. If you are unable to delete either profile for the duplicated individual, that just means you need to merge their accounts, which can be done by a friendly Cast Member that specializes in My Disney Experience at (407) 939-4357.
Once you've trimmed the fat on your Family and Friends List, Lane, you are ready to proceed with checking the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar and making your
park pass reservations. This fix will also streamline the process of booking
Lightning Lane attractions with the purchase of
Disney Genie+ service.
I hope planDisney makes the cut for your next trip planning question!

Jennifer
