Hi there, Emily!
I have a feeling you are familiar with visiting the Walt Disney World Resort and using the My Family & Friends list included in My Disney Experience. Although you may notice a lot of similarities between the
Disneyland Resort and the
Walt Disney World Resort, each of the resorts also has unique Disney Parks magic to offer. And each uses similar technology offerings with its own unique flair.
At the Disneyland Resort, your
theme park tickets can be linked to multiple accounts. Since all of your park tickets were purchased using your account, the tickets are primarily linked to that account. To find your park tickets, open the
Disneyland mobile app to the Tickets and Passes screen. You can access it from the app’s ☰ feature menu. You can take screenshots of the tickets and send them to the other members of your party to use the barcodes to link the tickets to their accounts. Or you can simply share the ticket numbers for them to type into the app on their mobile devices to link all of the tickets on each of their accounts. If each member of your party has all of the party’s tickets linked to their account, any member of your party should be able to do things like purchase
individual Lightning Lane return times for all of the tickets or plan to watch
World of Color by joining the
virtual queue with all of the tickets at once.
Advanced
dining reservations at the Disneyland Resort work more like how you might make reservations at a popular restaurant near your home. Only one Guest will need to make the reservation and indicate the total number of Guests dining. The names of the other Guests are not indicated on the reservation. When you arrive at the restaurant, use the Disneyland mobile app to check in. Or visit the host’s stand to give the name attached to the Disneyland Resort account used to book the reservation.
Any member of your party may use their own account to place a
mobile food and beverage order for everyone. Or each member of the party may choose to place orders separately. Just make sure you all choose the same arrival time or at least that the arrival times overlap or are close to each other. When you all arrive at the restaurant, use the app to let them know it’s time to freshly prepare your food by tapping the “I’m Here, Prepare My Order” button for each of the orders placed.
There are a lot of interesting comparisons between the Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort. My friends Alyssa, Eean, and I got together a little while ago to highlight many of the similar and unique aspects of technology at the two resort areas. I invite you to watch or listen to
Episode 8 of the first season of the planDisney podcast to hear more.
I hope you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort, Emily!
